Spicy Matar Pulao




INGREDIENTS

Basmati Rice  -  1 cup
Cumin seeds  -  1/2 tsp
Onion chopped  -  1 nos
Green chilies  -  4 nos
Ginger  -  1" piece
Green peas  -  1 cup
Garam masala powder  -  1 tsp
Coriander powder  -  1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder  -  1/4 tsp
Salt


METHOD
Wash and soak the rice in water for 30 minutes
Grind green chillies and ginger together and make a paste.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds.
Then add chopped onion and fry till translucent.
Then add turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes and add ground ginger and chilli paste and saute well till the raw smell leaves.
Now add garam masala and coriander powder and saute well.
Then add the washed green peas and mix well.
Now add the soaked basmati rice and 2 cups of water.
Add salt according to taste
Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes on high flame and another 5 minutes on medium flame till the rice cooks well.
Serve hot with veg raita.
